Vicki Dysinger's family grateful for support
I'm writing this letter on behalf of Vicki Dysinger's extended family. We would like to thank the residents of Muskingum, Licking and Guernsey counties for the outpouring of love and concern that you expressed to us following Vicki's death resulting from her Dec. 28 automobile accident on Dresden Road. The village of Dresden was especially accommodating to us, including the American Legion Hall for opening its doors to us for dinner for everyone following Vicki's funeral. We appreciate the extensive coverage of the accident and funeral by WHIZ-TV and the Zanesville Times Recorder. This media coverage led to an enormous turnout of people at Vicki's calling hours and funeral service. We knew Vicki had touched a lot of hearts, but we had no idea how many until they had the opportunity to help us share in our grief.
New Writing Forum At The Royal Court
The Royal Court's New Writing Forum will see a panel of some of the leading figures in British drama, and some of the most exciting young playwrights, putting the state of new writing in Britain under the microscope. The New Writing Forum is part of the Royal Court Young Writers Festival 2007, and fulfils the Royal Court's commitment never to become complacent about the emergence of new writing talent. The panel will be chaired by playwright Leo Butler (LUCKY DOG, REDUNDANT), who is also the Writers' Tutor for the Royal Court Young Writers Programme. Other members of the panel will include: Bola Agbaje (a young playwright whose first play GONE TOO FAR runs from 2-17 February as part of the Young Writers Festival), Michael Billington (chief drama critic, The Guardian), Dominic Cooke (Artistic Director, Royal Court), David Eldridge (playwright) and Mel Kenyon (literary agent and former Literary Manager, Royal Court).

UWS writing class will use everyday objects as inspiration
How many times have you dug through that messy kitchen drawer only to discover a screw or button whose origins are unknown? Or what about that lonely sock left in the dryer? With their origins and stories only a mystery, these everyday objects can serve as unlimited sources of inspiration, which can then translate into some of the best writing one may ever produce. The key is to really "listen" and "hear" what these objects have to say. The course, "What's in the Writer's Pocket?" offered by the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan Continuing Education Office, will allow aspiring writers to "listen" to these objects and uncover these original stories. "This class will be like a huge junk drawer spilled out in the middle of the classroom, and it's up to the students to decode and discover meaning in the mundane," said instructor Karen Howland, a holistic nurse and published poet.
