LOCAL NEWS IN BRIEF: Coroner's office gets equipment upgrade
The Indiana State Coroner's Association recently announced that Huntington County Coroner Leon Hurlburt has been awarded a federal grant through the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.The grant provides a computer reporting system for death investigators. The software system will provide a form and database that can be accessed by the Huntington Coroners Office at any location where there is Internet access. This grant will allow Hurlburt to dedicate his efforts to improving the death investigation and will allow him to conduct a more complete investigation. Along with the software program the grant also provides a Gateway notebook laptop computer and a printer-fax-copy and scanner device.Carroll will be part of panelJean Carroll of Huntington will serve as a panelist for “Opening Hooks and Chapter Cliffhangers," a writing workshop, at 7 p.m.

New Year Writing Club for Academics
